Wastewater treatment plants for commercial sites

Wastewater treatment plants for large sites are designed for sites with a load of over 50 people (PE) where reliable, efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment is needed. These solutions suit commercial sites as well as public and industrial buildings where there is no central sewer or an autonomous solution is required.

Biological wastewater treatment plants provide high treatment efficiency, stable operation even under uneven loads, and meet current environmental protection requirements. They are suitable for long-term operation, reducing running costs and the impact on the environment.

Frequently asked questions

When should you choose a biological treatment plant?
A biological treatment plant is the best choice where it is not possible to connect to the central city sewer. Unlike ordinary settling tanks, it is an eco-friendly long-term solution that provides a high level of treatment and does not cause unpleasant odours.
Can I clean the house with ordinary household chemicals if I have a bio sewerage system?
Yes, absolutely! Most cleaning products available in shops do not harm the sludge – the microorganisms can process them. However, the microorganisms will not process large amounts of dairy products, and industrial chemicals, paints and other corrosive substances that could kill the sludge must not be discharged into the treatment plant.
What is the biggest "enemy" of a biological treatment plant?
Items that don't dissolve or break down: wet wipes, cotton buds, condoms, hair, cigarette butts and construction chemicals (paints, solvents). These things won't harm the bacteria straight away, but they can physically block the system, which means unnecessary costs for calling out a technician.
Do I need to start using special "bio" bacteria sold as powders?
If the plant is working correctly and is used every day, no extra bacteria need to be added. The plant maintains the necessary level of microorganisms itself.
Will I have to change my daily life drastically with a biological treatment plant?
No, your lifestyle will hardly change. The plant is designed to adapt to the rhythm of modern life. The only real difference from a city sewer is that you become responsible for making sure no non-degradable waste enters the system that could physically block it.
How much electricity does a biological wastewater treatment plant use?
The plants' power consumption is low, as they run on a 60 W diaphragm compressor. For an AT series plant it averages 32 EUR a year (270 kWh). Of course, a larger plant gets a more powerful compressor, but the cost may only rise by a couple of euros.
Why is it important to buy a plant with a CE certificate?
This marking confirms that the plant has undergone quality tests during certification and meets European Union requirements. A plant without this certificate has certainly not been tested and most likely will not be able to treat wastewater properly. Buying a marked and certified plant makes it easier to commission the site and to present all the necessary documents to the State Environmental Service if needed.
What installation options are there for a biological wastewater treatment plant?
Our manager can recommend the best solution after a site survey, which determines where the plant can be installed and where the treated wastewater can be discharged. Treated water can be discharged in four ways:nnto a nearby ditch;nto an infiltration field using a ring shaft with washed gravel at the bottom;nif the groundwater level on site is high, a pumping station with a pump is installed before the infiltration field. After the plant, the pump lifts the treated wastewater to an infiltration field built on a mound (~80 cm above ground level);nif the outlet from the house is deeper than the plant's inlet pipe, a pumping station is installed before the plant. The pump lifts the incoming wastewater up to the plant.
How much does a biological treatment plant cost?
The price of a plant for a private house (4 to 6 people) usually starts from 1930 EUR. The total cost is made up of the plant, earthworks and installation. We prepare an exact price after a free consultation, assessing the groundwater level and the depth of the inlet on your property.n
